

John W. F. Sherman was born July 13, 1977, in Liberia West Africa. A visionary art photographer, John W. F. Sherman is a husband and the father of two sons and a daughter. John’s father, after whom he is named, was wrongfully executed at age thirty-eight on April 22, 1980, while serving as Minister of Commerce and Transportation, following a military coup d'état in Liberia, West Africa. Twelve other cabinet members were also executed at the same time.
John was three years old at the time of his father’s death. To escape persecution from the brutal military regime, John’s mother fled Liberia, first settling in Massachusetts after successfully gaining political asylum. John attended a private elementary school in Fall River, MA, before later moving to Nashville, TN with his mother and adopted brother, where he attended high school and college, married, and has set down roots.
John’s work as an artist started in 1995 with conceptual illustrations and signage. He began developing his technical skills in 2009, his distinctive artistic photographic style has gained him personal commissions from a diverse clientele. In 2015 John became a video producer. Merging a creative approach and technical expertise, his work includes award-winning modeling portfolios, recording artist head-shots, music videos, promotional videos, family portraits, and business marketing shoots.
